Gummy serving size calculator

See what a complete labeled serving means for one piece or your own portion. Compare two products using the same units, with exact values from your package or our dated source dataset.

Start with both labels. Fields marked * are required. Enter at least one known nutrient or calorie value for each product. Your entered values stay in your browser. Calculations do not establish ingredient quality or recommend a dose.

PRODUCT A

Use your package label, or choose a dated brand source.

Use values from the same full labeled serving. Leave unreported values blank. Enter 0 only if the label says 0. For “less than” values such as <1 g, leave the number blank.

PRODUCT B

Use your package label, or choose a dated brand source.

Use values from the same full labeled serving. Leave unreported values blank. Enter 0 only if the label says 0. For “less than” values such as <1 g, leave the number blank.

Enter the required values for both products to compare their labels.

See the serving calculation

A full labeled serving can contain more than one gummy. The example below shows why comparing a serving with a single piece changes the result.

Fictional gummy A: 5 grams fiber divided by 2 gummies equals 2.5 grams per gummy. Fictional gummy B: 6 grams divided by 3 gummies equals 2 grams per gummy.
These fictional values match the worked example below. B has more fiber per complete serving; A has more per gummy. The calculation assumes nutrients are evenly distributed across pieces. It does not recommend a dose. Open the scalable illustration.

How the serving math works

Per piece = labeled amount ÷ pieces per serving
Your portion = per-piece amount × pieces in your portion
Per 100 kcal = labeled amount ÷ labeled calories × 100

Keep every number tied to the same exact product and labeled serving. A pouch, an adult serving, and a child serving can describe different amounts.

The preset menu uses our dated manufacturer-source dataset. The complete study methodology explains inclusion, source types, unknown values, and limitations. Check your current package before relying on a saved preset.

No serving is recommended here. Normalizing to one piece or 100 calories does not make different formulas equivalent. Per-100-calorie results are unavailable when calories are missing or labeled zero.

A worked example

Fictional gummy A lists 5 g fiber in a two-piece serving. Its calculated fiber per piece is 5 ÷ 2 = 2.5 g. One piece represents half of that labeled serving.

Fictional gummy B lists 6 g fiber in a three-piece serving. Its calculated fiber per piece is 6 ÷ 3 = 2 g. B has more fiber per full serving, while A has more per piece in this example.

What a blank label field means

A missing protein figure is not the same as a label reporting 0 g protein. A bound such as “less than 1 g” is not an exact 1 g. Presets leave such values blank instead of turning them into an unsupported number.
